This Week's Ramblings
Started working on a game dev project. Just in the planning phase so far. The intention is to make something short and simple with RPG Maker. One town, one dungeon, a boss fight. Nothing extravagant, maybe add some secrets depending on my mood with the project. This still feels like a major undertaking though. I'm trying to do most if not all of this by myself.
Recent Media of Note.
Xenoblade Chronciles DE - Stopped playing this sometime in April or late March and just picked it back up a couple of days ago. Man every environment is just so cool. Also love realizing that I can turn off the quest path on the minimap 30+ hours in to the game. Much rather discover where I have to go rather than it be handed to me.
"we need more metafictional porn": interrogating the implications of a tumblr reply
Ghost Station by S.A. Barnes - Started reading this recently and am only a handful of chapters into it. Still on the fence if I actually like this book or not. They story does a good job of pulling me in, but there times where I question the quality of writing. It's weird considering I almost never read fiction analytically (which might be bad for a writer). There have been a few times where the writing just pulls me right out.
Metal Garden: Gaming's Loneliest Megastructure - Love all of eurothug's videos. This is her newest one and man does it just hit right.
Splinter by The Offspring - An old favorite that I've been rocking out to again.
