Steam Next Fest Summer 2025
It is once again Steam Next Fest. I already played through a handful of demos with a bunch more I've yet to touch. Thankfully Next Fest runs til June 16, Monday. Figured I'd list out the demos I've enjoyed the most so far.
- Unbeatable - Probably the best rythym game I have ever played. It also one of the main indie games I'm most looking forward too its full release. Its Unbeatable!
- Mina the Hollower - The first game Yacht Club Games has made that doesn't relate to Shovel Knight. Really cool vibe, almost like a cross between Legend of Zelda, Castelvania, with a dash of souls. Plays every similar to the old handheld Zelda games with a greater threat of enemies. Another indie game I'm greatly looking forward too.
- Tamashika - A breakneck FPS game with Hotline Miami vibes.
- Prison of Husk - Honestly wasn't expecting to like this one very much. It's an indie souls-like with PSX style graphics. Some parts of the demo can be a little obtuse or difficult yet I keep finding myself wanting to come back to it.
- Date Everything - A dating sim where you date well everything. There is even a list totaling 100 potential partners, each one a different household object. The tone of the game reminds of Monster Prom, which I'm here for.
- Generation Exile - A
citycolony builder where you try to keep the humanity under your care from dying out on a new planet. Rather than any other city builder you actual come to know the workers that you order. Each one with their own skills and traits that you can level up over time.
Honorable Mentions: - Gold Gold Adventure Gold
- Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound
