Ramblings of the Week
So I got my tax return back and now I’m stuck contemplating whether or not I should be a switch 2. Though I guess the key point of that is finding it in stock somewhere. But I got almost enough back to cover the cost of the Mario Kart World bundle. Not sure if its worth it to buy now or not. The only game on the horizon is the Donkey Kong (which does look cool) and Metroid Prime (which I don’t think has a release date). Even then I could just play Metroid on the switch oled I own. But also Mario Kart. IDK, I’m probably not going to buy one just yet (original plan was to wait til next year).
In other news I’m going to a party for the first time in forever. Sucks that I have to leave directly after work for it though. I won’t have any time to decompress, but hey it should be fun.
Recent Media of Note
- Phantom Island by King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard – Not really my style of music, but has managed to stick to me. Like it’s a solid album and really do I like it, but it's one of those once in a blue moon kinda albums to me.
- Bridge to eQualia – A visual novel (or just normal short story if you read it on their blog) about an internet sleuth searching for missing people she met one night in Second Life. I found it fairly interesting and worth the read.
- Asymmetrical by Garth Nix – A short story about a man with a shape shifting demon bent on killing any and all things the man finds annoyance with. The premise sounded at least mildly interesting, yet I think the story itself was serviceable at best. It was only a couple of bucks, but I don't think I would recommend it.
- CURSE/KISS/CUTE: #0 Aster Asks! - Quick heads up this one can be a little explicit. This the first chapter?issue? of CURS/KISS/CUTE; a web novel series about a mysterious city in the woods that no one can find filled with "monsters". This is just the most fluffy and cozy (albeit a little explicit) story. The tone of the it definitely something I needed right now. I loved every second of it. The worldbuilding seems really neat and I like the variety of "monsters" in this chapter zero.
