Ramblings of the Week Volume 3
Changed up the theme since I really wasn't vibing with old one anymore.
Been thinking about trying to get back into MMOs again, specifically Final Fantasy XIV. I've played if before, but I don't think I made it level 10 on a character. I tend to bounce off of MMOs(am more of a solo gamer), yet I keep wanting to try and get into them. Though I guess what I really want is a turn your brain off kinda game.
I had a small Fourth of July thing. Was fine, though there isn't much to celebrate right now.
What I've Been Playing
- Metro Gravity - This is an indie metroidvania with a little of rhythm game mixed in inspired by Gravity Rush. I'm only a few hours into my playthrough right and have been enjoying it a lot. The combat can be a bit tricky with finding the window to attack in between parries. The camera can also be a pain(like most 3D platformers). Though the environments have been very cool so far and the actual metroidvania-ness of is good. Also a warning that this game does make me motion sick at times from the gravity powers.
What I've Been Reading
- Missing Helen by Tia Tashiro - A story about clones and love.
- For Whom the Hair Grows by Tia Tashiro - A twist on the story of Rapunzel.
What I've Been Watching
- MaXXXine - The sequel to X and Pearl and I kinda enjoyed this one. The movie itself was pretty dumb and felt like the plot really didn't make sense. Like this really wasn't a horror/slasher flick, but kind of a thriller? There really wasn't any suspense what so ever and felt very cliche, but the it was a good turn off your brain watch.
- KPop Demon Hunters - Ok, this movie was way better than what I expected. I thought it was going to be dumb and not really my thing, yet I ended up really loving it. It reminded me of the 2000s Teen Titans cartoon and Totally Spies in terms of how they did facially expressions. Really recommend giving this one a watch.
